“Jace, you can’t be selfish,” Chandra said, putting several movies in a line. “Do you want to watch any of these?”

“Cartoons!”

“There aren’t any cartoons on tv right now,” Chandra said, feeling that this was going to take a lot of explaining. Then she remembered her stash of Disney tapes in her room. “How about a cartoon movie instead?”

He stopped, still sniffing.

“I’m sorry, Jace,” Chandra said, gently stroking his hair. “How about this, tomorrow We can go to the market and we’ll get what we need and then we can bake a cheesecake. How about that?”

“Yup! Sure!” He giggled to himself

“Okay!” Chandra smiled and started for the stairs. “Now, how about we go back to bed, hm? You must be tired.”

Chandra visibly paled. “I don’t think I have cheesecake in the house right now….”

Jace pouted and teared up.

Seeing the tears, Chandra started to internally freak out. “Um, let me look!” Chandra quickly went to the fridge and looked inside, hoping to find a piece of cheesecake that she had stashed away.
